Let's rally our support for Climate Action Week (CAW), from 12-18 July 2021 to take collective climate action and secure a sustainable future for Singapore.


Objectives:

▪ RAISE AWARENESS of climate adaptation and mitigation efforts by Public, Private and People sectors to support the Green Plan

▪ PARTNER communities and organisations to take concrete steps to realise net-zero emissions aspirations

▪ RALLY citizens to adopt a sustainable lifestyle, and be environmental stewards

▪ CO-CREATE solutions to achieve our climate pledge

▪ EMPOWER stakeholders to enhance climate resilience.

WATER

REDUCE WATER WASTAGE AND PROMOTING FRESH WATER IS DRINKABLE

The stunning lifestyle hub equipped with 9 meeting rooms have ensured that no plastic bottles are utilised and instead, glass bottles and cups are offered to our in-house guests holding a meeting or event with us.

Water consumption is measured and analyzed on a monthly basis through the GAIA, Accor’s Sustainability & Technical Platform.

FOOD

Food Waste at the hotel is measured, tracked and analyzed on a daily basis. 


Wherever possible, food products with third party labels (fair -trade, organic etc) are purchased. 


The use of overfished species of fishes (Shark, Ray, Bluefin Tuna, Grouper, Eels & Caviar from wild Sturgeon) are banned from the Hotel.

ENERGY

-Energy consumption are measured and analyzed on a monthly basis through the GAIA, Accor’s Sustainability & Technical Platform.
-Signages to encourage energy saving practices

-Chillers and Air-conditioning systems are optimized to run on efficient modes. Motion sensors are installed in linen rooms to reduce energy wastage.

WASTE

-Novotel Singapore on Stevens’ ghost kitchen project – Ancient Taste works with local musician Jeremy Han on producing an original song to promote the concept.

-Mercure’s Discover Local program encourages locals to support Singapore farms. The culinary team at Winestone, Mercure Singapore on Stevens creates dishes and cocktails with locally produced food items.

HERB GARDEN

5 commonly used herbs in the kitchen are grown in our 20m2 herb garden.  The housekeeping team assists with the produce.  Freshly harvested herbs and garnishes allow us to reduce our carbon footprint while ensuring tasty and nutritious food for all our diners
